Fashion dictionary for shoes - slippers, brogues, oxfords, sneakers, etc. How to wear tractor-soled boots - basic rules

In the 2016/2017 season, the fashion for massive shoes returned, which for a long time was considered exclusively the prerogative of youth. In addition to the already familiar autumn low shoes, comfortable loafers have acquired thick soles, ideally complementing the pajama style, elegant sandals, sandals, classic shoes, ethnic clogs. Who is the new trend for?

What is the name of shoes with thick soles

Taking into account the fact that modern trends make it possible to make both women's boots and slippers massive, she has many names. If you need to fill in a request to find a suitable option, indicate the category you are looking for (for example, ankle boots), adding "wedges". In most cases, manufacturers label their product this way, so you can't go wrong. The fashion industry distinguishes several main groups of women's shoes of this kind:

  • The very first boots with a thick solid embossed sole, originally men's, and then included in the ranks of unisex things - berets. Rough army shoes, which are leather boots with lacing, shafts to the middle of the calf.
  • Sneakers - reminiscent of classic sneakers, but with an oversized top (completely covers the ankle), thick soles, lacing or Velcro. They are found in youth subcultures, characteristic of the hip-hop style. Shoes of the unisex category of a semi-sports type are a frequent guest in the women's wardrobe because of their convenience.
  • Creepers are another version of popular sneakers with a massive rubber sole, the height of which is comparable to a good heel: sometimes it reaches 10 cm. The already mentioned berets were the ancestor of the creepers, although it is difficult to visually correlate them with each other.
  • Sandals and sandals with thick soles - clogs, clogs - are returning to modern fashion. A wooden or cork wedge, a thick heel or a flat one-piece massive "foot", a natural fabric or leather upper.

How to wear boots with thick soles

The choice of the rest of the ensemble depends on what shoes you decide to wear and what image you want to create. Classic wedge shoes can even fit into a business style with a pencil skirt without violating the dress code. However, it will not be possible to wear light youth sneakers to the office, unless the authorities turn a blind eye to the appearance of employees. With what to combine such informal shoes?

  • Women's demi-season boots with thick soles, like ankle boots, are often worn with trousers or jeans that hide the bootleg. Universal options - from matte leather with a round toe with high heels - are suitable for skirts, but there is an important condition here: shoes should not dangle on the leg. If the top is too wide for you, you can wear knitted leg warmers over the boots.
  • Summer massive clogs and clogs with high heels, thick, heavy soles will ideally be combined with sundresses, long dresses made of natural materials. Most models of such women's shoes are made in natural colors: brown, sand, beige. Interesting clogs will look with skinny jeans.
  • Creepers - semi-sports women's boots with thick soles - require an impeccable sense of style. They will look unusual and catchy with a checkered pajama-type trouser suit, they will create an even more original look with a guipure A-line dress and a denim jacket. Afraid of making mistakes or being the center of attention? Wear long shorts and an oversized T-shirt.
  • Snickers are so fond of modern designers that they have almost nothing in common with sports shoes. These unusual women's boots with thick soles can be worn for a standard combination of jeans and a T-shirt or for a romantic look in a long dress. Stars choose sneakers even for red carpet appearances.

Fashion boots with thick soles for women

In the 2016/2017 season, designers paid special attention to clogs, which received several bright colors, sneakers of all types and styles, and classic women's boots with a round toe, complemented by a embossed thick sole. The mix of non-standard and feminine caused heated discussions. Among this variety, it is not easy to choose the ideal option - you want to bring everything into your wardrobe.

Patent platform boots

This group is represented mainly by ankle boots, which every girl needs, or oxfords, which received a massive sole. The method of wearing and the effect it has depends on the specific version of the shoe:

  • Classic models of boots with a narrow stiletto heel have a low top, but they look very elegant and can be worn even with tight tights and a knitted noodle dress. Owners of long legs in such shoes will look like models from a glossy cover, no matter what they are combined with.
  • Oxford shoes in patent leather look massive and catchy, suitable for girls of large build and tall stature. In a neutral color, they can join the classic ensemble of trousers and a shirt, in a bright color they will require jeans and a hoodie.

Leather

The option is almost universal in every sense: matte leather is less capricious in terms of caring for it, it adapts more easily to the rest of the wardrobe details, and is not striking. The following options are possible:

  • Slip-ons with a massive sole are almost home slippers that fit perfectly into the street style. Leggings or skinny jeans, a t-shirt with a bright print, a khaki parka are the best friends of such shoes.
  • Leather ankle boots or low shoes with embossed soles are found in the winter collections of brands of all categories: from mass market to luxury. They look good with any outerwear, except for long mink coats, which belong to the classic style.
  • Stylish leather loafers, which received a thick rubber sole, are interestingly combined with cropped tucked-in jeans and shorts without weighing down the lower part. Connoisseurs of a non-standard look combine them with cotton blouses, elongated jackets, shirt dresses.

with a heel

If you are looking for neat women's low shoes with thick soles that will not make your look rough, will not make the lower part unnecessarily heavy, will not create the effect of a non-standard style, refer to models with heels. Often it is tall and thick, very stable, there are no problems with wearing comfort in such shoes. Among sandals with a massive sole, those that have a heel, regardless of its shape, are also recognized as the most feminine.

Where to buy and how much are high-soled shoes

The price depends on the promotion of the brand and the season in which it is planned to wear the product. Women's wedge sandals can be found for 2000-2500 rubles. mass-market brands, demi-season models - sneakers, creepers, etc. - for 3000-4000 rubles. Winter boots with thick soles for women and men will cost 5000-7000 rubles. Options from well-known designers are much more expensive, they are found only in multi-brand boutiques or online stores. The price ranges from 24,000-36,000 rubles.

Summer

Good afternoon, if you have come to this page, then you need to know all the names of modern shoes ... so that you no longer get confused in its types and have no doubts about the name of what you are wearing at the moment. Apparently one of these days someone called your moccasins an incomprehensible word LOAFERS, and sports slippers that have been serving you faithfully for the second season, unexpectedly turned out to be SLIPONS. And you firmly decided to clarify the situation about the name of all this MODERN SHOES ... In this article I have collected in pictures all the names and all types of shoes - now you can confidently distinguish OXFORD DERBY boots and never confuse LOAFERS with SLIPPERS.

So, welcome to the world of modern types of shoes and their English names, which have become part of the fashionable vocabulary of the Russian people.

Let's start with the types of shoes on a flat sole... smoothly move on to boots and all their kinds... and finish women's shoes(yes, there will be Louboutins too).

The names that we will analyze are equally present both in the types of women's shoes and in men's models. That is, for each variety from the list there are female and male styles. Therefore, today you will learn not only to understand women's shoes, but also in the men's store you will be able to show off your erudition.

Types of shoes with FLAT SOLE

(modern shoe names)

Let's start our list of shoes. All names will be with pictures and explanations of what is the characteristic difference between this species and all others.

The first name is beautiful with the taste of aircraft - ESPADRILLES (just like a flying squadron). Let's take a closer look at this type of shoe.

Espadrilles are a type of shoes that are distinguished by a woven sole and a natural (usually textile) upper material.

Where did it come from - initially the Spaniards came up with these shoes. They wove the soles out of ropegrass, and the uppers were made out of cheap jute material. Such shoes, due to their naturalness, were pleasant for the feet in hot stuffy weather. Very quickly, not only poor Spaniards, but all glamorous Europe began to wear these shoes.

The next name of shoes is SLIPONY They also gave me soft and comfortable textile slippers. But they are very different from espadrilles, just look at their appearance and find the differences.

Slipons- these are shoes with a soft sports sole made textile. A characteristic feature of slip-ons is a slightly protruding tongue and an elastic band next to the tongue. This type of shoe is worn with a sporty look, with jeans of all styles from skinny to boyfriend. Slip-ons of delicate colors also look appropriate with daytime summer dresses. The picture below shows that this type of footwear is often sewn not only from breathable textiles, but also from leatherette leather with various fashionable textures (like a snake or a crocodile).

Very often, slip-ons are given the name of another type of shoe SLIPER (they are really similar). Let's see what is the difference between slippers and slip-ons.

Slippers - similar to slipons only the shape of the tongue- but differ from them in the first place by the absence of an elastic band, and a solid sole (see the picture below). As well as the material from which they are made (sleepers are often made from smooth non-textile materials). Sole this type of footwear is the same as flat pumps. spout shape slightly pointed, with a graceful roundness. And in the place where the slipons have an elastic band sewn into the slippers, it’s just empty cut.

Now let's get acquainted with such a shoe name as LOAFERS . A beautiful elegant model of women's shoes and a stylish style of men's shoes for tight trousers.

Loafers are easy to distinguish from moccasins and sleepers - all loafers have jumper on the toe(just over the tongue) Loafers are often decorated with tassels or small metal buckles on the jumper tab.

Loafers - originate in Norway of the last century (they were worn as home shoes and had a soft sole. The Gucci fashion house brought a new sound to the loafer - they gave the loafers a solid sole and a gold jumper on the toe. The popularity of the loafers was brought from the first users - John F. Kennedy, Grace Kelly , Michael Jackson - how can a mere mortal resist and not buy himself a similar type of shoes (at least get close to the great ones).

The name MOCKASINS is familiar to us since childhood, and here we consider them only to identify their differences from loafers and topsiders. Now we will compare this type of shoe with its cut brothers.

Moccasin- moccasins are the name of the shoes that the Indians gave us. Moccasins have U-shaped stitched spout with a convex relief seam. This is a real moccasin cut. Although sometimes a jumper (a strip of leather) is sewn over the tongue of a moccasin, and then the moccasins already acquire the sign of loafers ... and the controversial question arises of loafers on our feet or moccasins. This is such fun))) - you can argue and even fight.

The next name for shoes that are close in cut to moccasins is TOP SIDERS. - most often these are men's shoes, although they are also found on women (but rarely).

Dockside- topsiders in their cut resemble moccasins. A distinctive feature of this type of footwear lies in its sailor flair - a decorative lace runs along the upper edge of the boot. They differ in a cord threaded along the top of the shoe, which serves as a decor (like a lace in the collar of an English sailor).

It's funny that their names in English (docksiders) and in Russian (topsiders) are different. In Russia, they are called topsiders by the name of the Sperry Top-Sider company, which invented them in 1935. This type of shoe was specifically for sailing yachts - the ribbed sole allows you to not slip on a smooth deck, and the beige or white color of the sole (as opposed to black) does not leave marks on the expensive deck flooring.

The next type of shoes MONKI more common in men's collections, although women's options similar in design also come across on fashionable bows. Let's look at this variety of modern shoes.

Monkey- the type of footwear that distinguishes the presence of a strap with a buckle- sometimes one, more often two at once. The height of the monks is not higher than the ankle (this is how they differ from such types of shoes as COSSACKS)

The name of this type of footwear comes from the Anglian word MONK "monk". It was the monks who, back in the 11th century, came up with the idea of wearing such simple boots with a clasp in the form of a wide strap and buckle. They were very convenient to take off and put on without getting tangled in the laces swollen with dirt. The poor monks made such shoes, of course, not from their skin, but from coarse textiles. And in the modern world, this shoe design is sewn from expensive, high-quality, smooth, shiny leather.

TYPES OF SHOES WITH LACES

(oxfords, derbies, brogues, deserts)

But the kind of shoes that everyone knows - and everyone calls them OXFORD - they once fell in love with Oxford youth and with their light hand, that is, their feet, they became popular and spread to the whole honest world.

Oxfords differ from all other similar types of boots in that LACE BOARDS are sewn with their lower edges into the cape boot. That is, in fact, the lacing of this type of footwear performs a decorative function, it does not really expand the toe when unlacing. By the way, the correct lacing on Oxford shoes is considered to be the one where the lines of the laces run in neat parallel stripes (and not as in the picture above). The photos below show us that in the modern world, the design of Oxford shoes can be the most imaginative and even freaky.

And here are the Derby boots - a type of shoe that is often confused with OXFORD. But they have one very obvious difference.

Derby boots sidewalls are sewn over the main part of the boot. And therefore, when the laces are untied, these sidewalls can bend freely (spank like ears). And if you remember, in Oxfords, opposite the sidewall of the lacing part, they are tightly sewn into the toe of the boot and cannot be folded back and even move apart with difficulty. They less official, than oxfords, and therefore they can be worn not only with trousers, but also with jeans and corduroy trousers, chinos, etc.

You probably noticed that many of the shoes presented have perforation in the form of holes to ventilate the feet in hot weather. For such a holey type of shoe, a special name was invented - these boots are called BROGs.

Where did Brogie boots come from?- It is believed that this type of shoe has Scottish roots. It was there that the Scots grazed their cattle in tall and wet grasses, suffering from wet boots. Before the boots had dried out during the night, it was again necessary to drive the cattle out to pasture and put on nasty damp shoes. That's why the idea arose to make holes in the boots for their quick airing and drying.

Brogues are a type of footwear ideal for trousers made of cotton or linen fabric, chinos, corduroy pants and elastic sports pants. As you can see in the picture below, brogue boots can have both oxford and derby designs.

The next type of shoe on our list is DESERT. They got their name from the word desert. It was these boots that the British military wore in Egypt. The hot sand did not make the heels hot thanks to the thick sole, and the soft leather allowed the feet to feel comfortable and comfortable. When the war ended, the remnants of the uniform were sold freely and fell in love with the entire civilian population of England.

A distinctive feature of DESERT are their thick sole and soft, more often suede leather and a very small number of holes for lacing. Women's versions of these boots are often put on a heel and make a more sophisticated toe.

And in their cut, they are very similar to the next type of CHUKKA shoes . In fact, deserts are one of the varieties of Chukka boots. Let's look at this type of boots, very beautiful and concise in their meager ascetic lacing and the simplicity of a laconic smooth cut.

Chukka (or chakka) boots differ from deserts more free cut range- it is allowed from higher sides ... and more holes for lacing are already allowed - not two, but three. And the material for this type of footwear no longer has to be suede - even smooth patent leather is only welcome.

TYPES OF HIGH BOOTS

(Chelsea, Timberlands, Dr. Martins, Snickers)

Now the turn has come to high boots and the first in this list of styles are smooth and minimalistic in its design CHELSEA BOOTS. They are often found in both men's and women's types of shoes. I will specifically write an article about what you can wear with such fashionable and insanely comfortable boots for women.

Chelsea boots- Chelsea boots do not have any decorative elements on them - no buckles, no laces. They are laconic in their cut and their beauty lies in their pure radiance and impeccable smoothness. They have a side slit on both sides, into which an elastic band is inserted, for ease of dressing.

Fashion houses often play with this laconic style of women's shoes, giving it different additions in the form of a heel (as in the photo below) or perforation and a cut without elastic.

High boots in military style, which our people still like to call boots or army boots, in the states they call it DR. MARTINS.

Dr. Martens- this type of boots is decorated with high lacing to the very top of the shoe. They have quality soles with deep treads, making them comfortable shoes for muddy off-season and slippery winters.

Designers love to play with heavy combat boots by incorporating Oxford-inspired designs, BROG perforations, or thin wedges (see photo below).

Timberland boots TIMBERLANDS - in translation, it sounds like a forester's boots. They differ from other lace-up boots with a height just above the ankle and a velvety surface of the material from which they are sewn.

The popularity of these boots brought cheerful mustard color- such a color scheme turned out to be crucial for the popularization of this type of footwear. Now this color is considered the classic color of the TIMBERLANDS. A feature of the design of these boots is their ability to fold the fur outward.

Well, the turn has finally come to bitinok with a chocolate name. SNICKERS - got the name from the word "sneak" - the soft, silent sole of this type of shoe allows you to silently sneak up.

Sneakers are similar to sports shoes - because of the flexible rubber sole and the cut, close to sneakers with Velcro or laces. This shoe was originally used on the tennis courts- and now she was raised to a high platform and even to a wedge for lovely ladies who have long dreamed of sneakers with heels.

This is such a journey into the world of names for shoes that we made today. Now you feel like an expert in a variety of different types of shoes ... and are well versed in all types of lace-up boots. Now you can instructively comment on fashion articles on fashion blogs and correct negligent hacks who called derby oxford boots.

And that is not all…

I am inviting you in continuation of this article.

After all, we are not finished yet ... we have to figure it out with types of women's shoes, Yes, and the boots did not hurt to build in a strict classification ...

Good luck with your choice of shoes.
Olga Klishevska, specially for the site

Types of shoes - classification in pictures

Fashion dictates trends and trends and there are so many names of shoes that it is not surprising to confuse something! It is especially difficult to navigate and distinguish between types of shoes in English.

Let's try to cover at least some types and classifications. The signs of classification are different: season, material of manufacture, who wears it, etc.

Initially, the classification is simple: women's and men's, seasonal (summer, winter, autumn, spring,) demi-season.

Seasonal shoes are logically divided into 4 seasons. Demi-season shoes includes two periods: autumn-winter and spring-summer. We choose demi-season shoes when you need to smoothly transition from autumn to winter shoes, from winter to spring, and from spring to summer. These are exactly the shoes that are chosen not specifically for the time of year, but for weather conditions.

There is also a simple classification into women's and men's shoes, leather and non-leather. All types of shoes and their names and classification, of course, cannot be covered. But we will try to know the basics.

You can write a lot about these classifications and subspecies. But I would like to literally touch on the topic of incomprehensible words and names in a couple of words.

Classification and types of men's shoes in pictures

I will most likely devote a separate topic to this, but in this post I want to show you a schematic division of men's shoes!

If you move the Mary Jane strap from the rise to the ankle and add a vertical one, you get a model of tango shoes (tango shoes). The shoes have a closed high heel, a heel and are complemented by a T-strap or criss-cross straps at the instep. The history of the model began in the 1910s, when tango was actively conquering Europe and the USA. Passionate movements and forbidden public frankness attracted everyone's attention to the dance. There were tango evenings, dance schools and professional pairs of dancers. The shoe industry began producing special shoes that were comfortable, soft, stable, and at the same time kept their feet perfectly even during passionate steps.

Today, these shoes are still danced in tango, but they are also worn in everyday life. The meaning of the straps has long been forgotten, they have become a decoration of the model, emphasizing the instep, ankle and beautifully shaping the foot.

Glove shoes

Glove shoes, comparable in softness to Czech shoes, are the heroes of the spring-summer season 2017. The shoes got the name glove (English gloves) for the softness of the material from which they are sewn. Thin elastic leather, comparable in softness to glove, makes shoes unprecedentedly comfortable. By landing on the leg, glove shoes can only be compared with Czechs - shoes in which gymnasts and dancers train. In addition to the softest material, glove shoes are distinguished by the absence of a rigid form: a toe cap, heels and other “frame” details. Read more in our material.

Oxfords

Oxfords (oxford shoes) - shoes with closed lacing, in which the side parts of the boot (boots) are sewn to the main part (sock) with a single seam. Even with the laces untied, the oxfords keep their shape, expanding in the tongue area by just a couple of centimeters.
Oxfords came to the women's wardrobe from the men's, sometimes appearing in the original masculine form, and sometimes in a feminine, sophisticated format.

Derby

Derby (derby shoes) - shoes with open lacing, in which the side parts (berets) are sewn to the main (sock) with a short side seam. The model is easy to put on: when the laces are untied, the side parts diverge freely to the sides. According to our subjective observations, derby low shoes are more common in women's wardrobe than Oxford low shoes.

brogues

Monkey

Monks (monks, monkstraps) - low shoes without lacing, in which the side buckles play the role of fasteners. Literally translated from English, "monkstraps" means "buckles of monks." They owe their appearance to monks who wore comfortable shoes with buckles instead of laces.

loafers

Loafers (loafers) - shoes that combine the top without lacing with the sole of the shoe. Several varieties of loafers give room for imagination, so shoes are one of the most popular in both men's and women's wardrobes. Depending on the decorative elements and the shape of the top, they are divided into penny loafers, loafers with a buckle, tassels, fringe, Venetian, Belgian and slippers.

Penny loafers
Penny loafers (penny loafers) - a model, complemented by a leather strip with a slot. According to legend, students used this decor for their own purposes: they inserted a penny coin into the slot for good luck, from which the name “penny loafers” came from.

Loafers with buckle
Buckle loafers originated in the 1930s, when the Italian designer Gucci added a snaffle-shaped buckle to a regular model, a piece of horse harness. Loafers with a buckle loafers (buckle - “buckle”) have the second name “Gucci loafers” after their creator. Modern versions rethink the snaffle: instead, you can find decoration in the form of a bamboo stick, a spiral and just a chain.

Tassel loafers
Tassel loafers owe their appearance to the American actor Paul Lucas, who, on one of his trips abroad, was fascinated by the tassels on loafers. The tassel loafers were promoted worldwide by Ivy League students, for whom tassel loafers became an unspoken uniform, fitting perfectly into the preppy school-student style.

Loafers with fringes
Kilt loafers (kiltie loafers) - a model that is decorated with a wide leather fringe. Loafers are named kilts by analogy with the Scottish national skirt, which is vaguely reminiscent of leather stripes. The fringe of kilts can be complemented with a buckle, tassel or be an independent detail.

Belgian loafers
Belgian loafers (belgian loafers) - a model decorated with a small bow. This detail was added by designer Henry Bendel, and he borrowed the form from Belgian shoemakers, from whom he learned the craft.

Venetian loafers
Venetian loafers are a model that is distinguished by the complete absence of jewelry. They are called "Venetian" for their resemblance to the laconic form of the Venetian gondoliers. In appearance, they are similar to sleepers, but do not have a pronounced tongue shape.

Sleepers
Slippers (slippers) - shoes with a classic loafer sole and a soft top without decorations, often made of velvet or tweed. The protruding tongue with rounded edges can be decorated with embossed or embroidered monograms.

Deserts

Desert boots - ankle-high boots made of suede, nubuck or leather with rubber soles. The name is due to the British soldiers who fought in them in the sands of Egypt during World War II, as well as to Nathan Clark, who established their production in peaceful conditions under the Clarks brand, after which this species is often called simply clarks. A distinctive feature - two holes for lacing on each side. If there are more of them, then the boots from deserts turn into chakka.

Chakka

Chukka, chukka (chukka boots) - ankle-high boots made of suede, nubuck or leather. The name "chakka" comes from the term "chakker" - the period of the game of polo. Unlike deserts, chakkas can have any number of lacing holes. A characteristic difference between chukka boots is the leather sole.

Chelsea

Chelsea (chelsea boots) - boots above the ankle with low heels with rubber inserts on the sides. Elastic inserts allow the boot to maintain a narrow ankle shape without the need for zippers and lacing. In a women's wardrobe, low-heeled chelsea boots often become a minimalist style element in combination with skinny jeans and a leather jacket. Ankle boots with heels can also be equipped with an elastic band, which gives us the right to call them Chelsea ankle boots.

Moccasins

Moccasins (moccasins) - shoes without lacing on a soft rubber sole (without a heel) or leather with rubber studded inserts. A distinctive feature of moccasins is a protruding seam on the upper part of the shoe, often with an external overlay. The women's version of moccasins practically does not differ from the men's, so they can be called unisex shoes.

Topsiders

Topsiders (topsiders, boat shoes) - yachtsmen's shoes with corrugated non-slip soles with a lace around the heel. The name comes from topside - upper deck. The lacing runs dotted along the edge of the upper to ensure a secure fit on the foot: the comfort and safety of the sailor on wet decks are the main requirements. Historically, the sole of topsiders was white, which did not leave marks on the snow-white deck of the yacht, but today you can find models of various colors, since white has lost its functional purpose. Readings

Riding boots - riding boots - come from a time when riding was an indispensable skill. Riding boots were made of soft dense leather, which served for a long time and at the same time gave the rider the opportunity to control the horse by lightly squeezing its sides. The right to a women's pair of riding boots was earned by the first female travelers who abandoned the uncomfortable women's saddle in favor of a practical men's saddle. Modern women's readings can be with low heels or with stilettos, in the latter version, retaining only a distant resemblance to the original. In the wardrobe, readings are organic in combination with leggings and a voluminous top.

Jackbuts

The prototype of jackboots is army riding boots. Wartime made its demands on shoes, therefore, unlike soft readings, jackboots were reinforced with a metal lining - chain mail sewn into the walls of the boot. The reinforced top was designed to protect against injuries and wounds in battle, and to control the horse, the boot was supplemented with a belt with a spur on the top. During the Second World War, jackboots became part of the uniform of the German troops, so they still evoke associations with aggression and military style. Jodhpur

Jodhpur boots - Ankle-length boots with round toes, low heels, fitted with straps at the tops. Designed for riding, boots were fastened to the feet with straps and buckles wrapped around the ankle. If you remove the straps, replacing them with an elastic insert, the boots will turn into a Chelsea. In its original form, the strap on jodhpurs wraps around the ankle and is fastened with a buckle to the outside of the boot.

The boots are named after the city of Jaipur (India). In 1897, an Indian polo team led by the son of the Maharaja of Jaipur competed at the races in honor of Queen Victoria's jubilee. The players were dressed in national costumes, which included churidar trousers and short boots with straps. The English society appreciated the exotic shoe novelty and replaced their high boots with short jodhpurs, combining them with the usual English breeches. In addition to convenience, the new uniforms were much cheaper to manufacture, as they required less leather. Today, jodhpurs may have variations with one or more straps that play a decorative role.

Many girls would like to look taller and slimmer, but it is difficult to constantly wear shoes with thin heels, especially if the lifestyle is active and you have to move a lot. In this case, you should pay attention to the shoes with tractor soles. Treaded outsole is thick or barely marked, shoes can be with a heel or on a flat corrugated platform. Since the grooved outsole is a prominent element in itself, the decor of the shoe is generally discreet. Most often, elements such as buckles, metal rivets, fringe are used.

Manufacturers offer similar shoes for different seasons. So autumn models are loafers or lace-up boots. But summer shoes with tractor soles are models with an open toe or heel, you can find models with cutouts on the sides. Sandals made of straps or sandals are popular among fashionistas.

Actual models in which the color of the top and the color of the sole are different. Especially attractive are shoes with thick corrugated white soles, while the top of the model can have any color, from pastel tones to bright red and black.

materials

Various materials are used to make shoes. The sole itself is usually made of polyurethane. The main advantages of such a sole are its flexibility and wear resistance. Therefore, shoes with polyurethane corrugated soles are practical, they serve for a long time, and the legs do not get tired in them. The positive aspects are also high moisture resistance and heat-insulating properties of polyurethane. Therefore, the shoes are quite warm and suitable for wearing in rainy weather. The presence of a relief pattern makes the shoes non-slip. Of course, this quality is more needed for winter shoes, but it will not be superfluous for shoes either.

The uppers of shoes are most often made of leather and artificial materials replacing the skin. Moreover, the skin can be both matte and varnished. I must say that patent leather shoes with tractor soles look very stylish. Shoes made of artificial leather analogues are sometimes decorated with embossing, giving the material an unusual relief that imitates the skin of reptiles.

Less common are suede shoes with grooved soles, although such models look no less interesting than leather products.

Advantages and disadvantages

Fashionistas who have not yet decided to buy tractor-soled shoes for themselves should get acquainted with the advantages of such models and their disadvantages.

The advantages of the models include :

  • Convenience. It is more convenient to wear such shoes than stilettos, especially if you have to walk not on smooth parquet, but on not too well-groomed sidewalks. Moreover, when wearing such shoes, the legs get tired less, even if a high-heeled model is chosen.
  • Practicality. The thick polyurethane sole does not wear out for a long time, even if you have to walk a lot.

  • Protection from rain and cold. If you choose closed shoes with tractor soles, then your feet will not get wet in the rain and will not freeze if it gets cold outside.
  • The visual effect of harmony. Rough tractor-soled shoes make the legs visually slimmer and longer.

  • Relevance. Shoes with tractor soles seem to have “settled” very firmly on the fashion catwalk, so you can safely buy such models, they will remain in trend for a long time to come.

The disadvantages of the models include :

  • Rough appearance. Such models do not look very elegant, but if you learn how to choose the right things, you can create a variety of stylish images.

overalls

A great ensemble can be created by wearing tractor-soled shoes with a jumpsuit. Pair with denim overalls and flat pumps for a stylish casual look. You can complement the ensemble with a T-shirt or a plaid cowboy shirt and a hat.

To create a stylish evening look, choose a jumpsuit made of shiny fabric. Shoes with high thick heels and grooved soles are suitable for such clothes.

Skirts

Shoes with corrugated soles are perfectly combined with skirts of various styles. The exception, perhaps, are floor-length skirts, as they completely hide the shoes, and tractor-soled shoes should become the “highlight” of the image.

A-line skirts, as well as straight and flared models look good with shoes with thick grooved soles. It is recommended to choose a cropped top with a skirt that leaves an open strip of skin on the stomach. Shoes for such an ensemble should be chosen open with a strap around the ankle.

However, if a fashionista prefers a mini length, then the top of the ensemble should not be short. You can wear any suitable top or shirt.

Tights

For shoes with tractor soles, you should choose simple tights without patterns and shine., so as not to distract attention from the shoes, which are the main detail in the ensemble.
